Casina Vivi occupies the first floor of an ancient village house with traditional red tiled roof and its own entrance at street level. The house sits in the very heart of a medieval village and is surrounded by a small church, an ancient castle privately owned and is in front of the "Municipio" or Municipal house. Via Montebello is a narrow cobblestone street which winds down towards the main square of the village which takes its name from the famous italian poet Josue' Carducci who was born there . Cars are not allowed down this street but there is a convenient and large public parking just 50 yards away. Castagneto Carducci is perched on a hill overlooking the southern east of Tuscany and is less than 4 km from beautiful sandy beaches and the villages of Donoratico and Donoratico Marina. it is also 4 kms away from Bolgheri , a wonderful example of a perfectly preserved medieval, walled in village with one of the best wineries around.
